COVID-19 Coronavirus Statement

Dear Customer,

I would like to update you on the actions we are taking to protect our customers, colleagues and suppliers during the Coronavirus outbreak.

As always our primary focus is the health and well-being of people. We are closely following the guidance issued by the Government, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation to minimise risk, and we aim to maintain our business operations and support our customers in a sustainable way throughout this period of disruption, taking mitigating actions where we can.

Our colleagues have been briefed on the key points and good practice in response to the situation, and this includes the importance of proper hygiene routines, respect of social distancing, and how and when to self-isolate. Working flexibly is a key component in our plans, and face-to-face meetings have been replaced by electronic formats.

Customer Service

I would like to reassure you that we are open for business as usual, and that our robust and diverse supply chain means that we are well equipped to meet business demand. We are in regular contact with our key suppliers, who are confident that they can continue to supply us with materials. This, combined with our extensive stockholding, will ensure that we meet the requirements of our customers and that we continue to deliver a first class service.

Placing Orders

Our trade counters and sales offices are fully staffed and operating to their usual opening hours. Collections can still be made as required, whilst mutually respecting social distancing and hygiene guidance. Our website remains fully operational for online ordering 24/7. Delivery schedules are unaffected. Our delivery drivers have been issued with a strict policy regarding hygiene, social distancing and entering premises, and we can assure you that we are adopting Government guidance when making a delivery to you.

External Sales Teams

External sales representatives have been directed to work from home until further notice. However, they are contactable via email and phone as usual, and will be making periodic contact with you to discuss your business needs and to ensure we have the correct contact information on file for your business.

Accounts Departments

Our Credit Control, Purchase Ledger and associated departments are also fully staffed and available to help you with any requests or transactions during normal business hours.

We all have a responsibility to reduce risks around the spread of the virus, and therefore ask that anyone visiting our sites respects the social distancing guidelines in place and observes good hygiene practices, particularly in regards to handwashing (or equivalent antiviral cleansing) both immediately prior to, and subsequent to, any visit; irrespective of any person-to-person contact.
