Caring for the environment around us is a shared responsibility. We all have a part to play and at IDSurfaces - as individuals, as an organisation, and as partners to our customers - we are no different.
When buying from or working with IDSurfaces, you can be confident that we put sustainability and ethics at the forefront of our decisions and actions, upholding our responsibility as a supplier, manufacturer and distributor.
From delivery routes to product development, packaging and more, we are always striving to do better for the world around us.
So, how do we do this?
We work with a huge range of materials across our 12,000 product lines - ranging from flooring and worktops to wall panelling and laminate - and we are committed to ensuring each range is responsibly sourced.
When buying from IDSurfaces, you can be confident that you are trading in goods that are from legal, ethical and sustainable sources.
100% of our wood-based products are EUTR compliant and 80% are either FSC® or PEFC™. We have held Chain of Custody since 2005 and offer certified FSC® or PEFC™ options across each of our main product areas.
Distribution is at the core of what we do – it’s how we built our name. The strength of our national distribution network and 12 regional depots means that wherever you are, we’re able to get you what you need, when you need it.
Efficient route planning across all our deliveries keeps our carbon emissions as low as possible. We’re committed to getting our products to customers in the smartest and most environmentally conscious way possible.
What goes around comes around – that’s why we recycle and bale cardboard, plastic and timber across all of our branches. As a manufacturer of wall panelling brand Showerwall, we recycle and refill the storage containers our bonding glue is kept in, while the cardboard we use for packaging is recycled and fully recyclable. Any excess cardboard or polythene used at the factory is sent for baling to support the separation of our waste stream. We also recycle the pallets used for shipping laminate and use them to redistribute our finished panels direct to our customers.
Our aim is to meet and, where possible, exceed relevant environmental legislation – we want to go above and beyond.
We are consistently monitoring our actions against environmental objectives and targets that cover:
As a global community, we share the same sustainability goals, and it’s essential that we all play a part in making them a reality.
IDSurfaces is the industry’s largest distributor and the senior leadership team has placed sustainability at the centre of the business’ culture and future plans - from assessing environmental performance, to implementing sustainability policies and communicating our ambitions to customers and the wider public.
